Below is a list of 10 of the better ways to earn an income online. The list is by no means exhaustive, I’m sure if you looked around for long enough you could find another 100 ways. Just remember that the internet is still at its infant stage. The majority of money on the internet comes through advertising, advertising alone cannot support Facebook, Google, Youtube and the many more huge companies that have shot up over the last 10 years. Therefore something has to change in the near future. One sign of this is the fact that newspapers will soon be charging people to access them online. So my advice is stick around for long enough and learn all you can, earn whatever money you can and in the long run you may be thankful for all the hours you put in learning about backlinking, keywords, Joomla! etc,etc,etc.

If you are a talented writer or know a lot about a niche topic you should consider setting up a blog. Write and build up a readership, write some more sell some advertising space or fill it with google adsense and watch the pennys start to roll in. For most people it stays as pennys but for others it helps them make millions, check out this article for a look at some millionaire bloggers.
2)Write for a revenue sharing site like Hubpages.
By writing for a site like hubpages you can make a passive income from people who buy products through your site using amazon and ebay links similar to what is below and through adsense clicks, 40% of these are taken by hubpages. 5)Sell products online through affiliate marketing
Many online retailers are looking for affiliates. Affiliates are webmasters who advertise the online retailers products using their websites or articles. I think for most of the people here who like to write, alternative revenue sharing sites may also appeal to them. I did hear recently though that sites like eHow have closed their revenue sharing programme which is a shame. However there are still many others which people can sign upto.
I personally prefer Micro Niche Site development and monetising this with AdSense, so far seems to be working ok and I would suggest that your readers also consider this as an additional way to earn an income.

Nice hub. I would want to add one more thing here and that is to buy your own domain once you get some funds. It's really a good idea to earn without investing money, but paying a few dollars a month and earning hundreds of dollars from that is much more better than revenue sharing or working on a free blog.

Are you doing all ten of these yourself? I think the best way is to just create a QUALITY blog about a topic you know about, create quality content and put Adwords on the site. SEO the blog and build traffic to it over time.

I'm sure I have tried every method possible online. My favourite would be article marketing as it is simple, anyone can do it and doesn't cost a thing. It is also a great way of testing products and niches that work and finding low competition keywords that rank well. From there you can build a website or blog around the niche and really begin to create an authority and make some decent income.

No doubt a lot of good and sound advice here. One thing I have found to be true, interestingly enough, is that HubPages so far, has BY FAR been superior to anything else I've used in generating traffic and indexing.
Those are all good ideas. You can even make a video and sell your products. It works for me.
You are write about online surveys. I have an account with mob4hire.com. I devoted time to there surveys about my experience with cellphones and telecommunication networks in the Philippines, they promised to pay me $1.00 dollar for my time through Paypal. I did not get a single penny.

Good tips. Although it is not feasible for one person to do all of them unless they have an outsource team. It is good to pick 2 or 3 and test them to see which one is most effective.
I would recommend adsense for beginners looking to earn money online. Probably the easiest way is to use hubpages, but if you are looking for a complete website with higher earnings you should probably try to make your own blog.

Really great hub Kev. As I've been moving into IM a bit more I keep on asking myself do I make money on the front end or on the back end. You've certainly got some good points on 'selling things' however I personally think that giving away free things which have value not only builds some connection but increases the likelhood of future success.

Anyway, it is easy to make money online as long as you have the courage to success.
Many people have gotten excited about lead generation, especially since a chunk of people ~ 1 yr ago got tossed from Adwords. One key thing about making money, CPA included, is that certain types of offers convert better with different types of pitches. I think this is one main reason newbies can have trouble getting sales or offers to convert when they try their hand at making money online: matching the marketing method or pitch with the product they are selling.

Hey sligobay. A backlink essentially is a link from an outside website to yours. Google likes these because it means people liked your poem or article so much that they created a link from your page to their page.Hence,google puts your pagerank up and sends more traffic your way. There are a lot of writers here who have good articles about making money through hubpages and blogs. Mark Knowles is probably one of the best. Read his stuff and you'll get a good idea of how to go about it. If anyone tries to sell you a "making money online" product I also recommend not buying it.
Best of luck with making a few quid from hubpages. Its tough work but if you enjoy writing its the way to go. Keep up the poetry,I really enjoy it. Especially from a fellow Irishman;)

I've got the Adsense model setup on a few of my hubpages. As you say, they take some of the revenue, but I don't mind because I get great traffic from them. I think making money online is all about diversity. You have to have a few different methods of income. I'm also doing adwords at the moment. It can be tricky but works well once you figure it out.

Excellent hub on how to make money online. Of all the different methods that you mentioned, affiliate marketing seems to be the most promising avenue. However, in order to do this, you need to have either a website or you can try your luck with PPC marketing on the major search engines. PPC marketing always involves a certain level of risk factor, so it is good to have a website instead since you can get free organic traffic from the search engines if you promote your site properly. The other option is obviously to write for other websites that need content and get paid. However, this requires a certain level of commitment, energy, and drive on your part.

Great hub! I can add one to your "don't do it" list. If someone offers you money to have stuff delivered to you, and all you do is send it on to them, they are buying with stolen credit cards and the merchandise is probably leaving the country - and YOU will be left on the hook when the scam is discovered.
Interesting ways to market yourself.I however do not recommend domain buying for anyone with a conscience.Someone bought my name when my renewal fee did not go through.Now they are advertising hotels in Rwanda under my name! How cruel is that.I say business with heart.

what's some great way's to make some extra income online. The key to making money online is to actually do the work. Most people are not willing to put in the work that it takes to make some extra cash online.
