Royalty free images for your websites and hubs
76Searching for royalty free images for your websitesand hubpage articles can often be a frustrating process. I think everyone is aware of Google Images and the great service it provides. However, I often find it doesn’t have enough photos, especially if I’m looking to build a theme specific website or if I am looking for the perfect royalty free imagefor a hub. Also, I find that I often find the photos I used on another website. It is well known that duplicate content is not something that googles search engine is fond of, whether this applies to photos as well I am not sure but I have a feeling it does. So, if you want top quality royalty free photos for your website there are a number of great sites that will help you find exactly what you are looking for. Although all the photos you download through these sites are free of charge they may require you to set up an account before you can begin to download photos and also remember to read the terms of use before you get started. Otherwise you may find yourself getting a threatening email from an unhappy photographer!
This site offers a broad range of top quality photos that are free to download. There is a wide variety of images included in this website including specific sections for animals, people, architecture and business. Many of these images are links from dreamstime which means that you will have to set up a dreamstime account before you can access them. Don’t worry this is easily done and you can be downloading free images within a few minutes.
This website takes stock images from a number of different sites to create a website with one of the best stock image banks on the net. If you are a photographer you can also contribute to the images on file. It also has links to other resources such as sound files, website content and avatars. All of course free of charge.
Stock vault is another website which has a wide variety of images to select from. These images include photographs, design templates, backgrounds and 3D renders. Again all is free on this website; however it does state that it’s free only for non commercial use. If you want to take full advantage of what’s on offer on this site don’t delay and sign up directly as many of the better images are held for members only and of course it’s free to sign up.
This website has some top quality images that are now in the public domain. This means you can do pretty much whatever you want with them except resell them. Although there isn’t a huge amount of photos on this site it would be very useful for anyone who wants to find photos for a nature article or website. The quality of the photos varies. No sign up is required although the owner does ask that you sign the guest book before you leave.
Another free stock image site and like the above it has a huge variety of images from which you can choose from. The only difference with this site is that after selecting an image you must be sure to check that individual photograph for publishing permissions. The other catch with this site is that it requires that you place a back link to stockgrafix near the image. This may be unacceptable for many web publishers and understandably so. It does however make up for its flaws with some top quality images that may be just too good to resist.

Hi kev8, This is a great Hubpage, very useful to me. Are the "Google Images" free to use?
Thank you kev8. I will try those sites! :)
Thanks for the tips. Generally I use my own images, but occasionally there is the need for something else. Will take a look at these.
Great information and hub. Just what I needed. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the links, I am just starting out and was curious where I should go to find stock photos. Now I have a lot of options!
I like to put a picture in every hub if I can, so I'll definitely check these sites out.
Really useful! There is nothing more annoying that doing a Post and then not being able to find a suitable image. Good one!
Hi, great information, thanks for your sharing, I go to the free stock photos, sign up as a member of dreamstime.com. And download some free pictures there, I wander whether I have the right to paste the free pictures in commercial website and hubpages without add a source like "http://www.dreamstime.com/guinea-pig-with-strawber" I come from China, and it seems a little hard for me to understand RF-LL in English. So could you explain a little more for me. Thanks again! I am always worrying my website do not meets the policy of copy right.
Another free source of images is Microsoft Clip Art. Whilst not totally free, image galleries like 123rf.com and stockxpert.com are royalty free and many images only cost me £1.
I never thought there's another link where to get nice pics aside from google. This is indeed a good information, off to check on them now! Thank you so much ;)
